Common Ground
Common Ground Student Ministries impacts students (grades 7-12) from our church and community to develop within them a passion to be authentic Christ-followers. Common Ground Student Ministries is devoted to moving students through a three-phase strategy of reaching the curious, teaching the convinced, and sending the committed to perform ministry in accordance with the Great Commission and the Great Commandment. The components of the ministry include:
Common Ground - The purpose of Common Ground is to provide students with a large-group environment in which we promote community and outreach. Activities include a variety of music, worship, drama, Bible Study, food and games.
Small Groups - Small Groups are made up of their respective age/grade and provide the students with a small discussion-group atmosphere. Students and leaders develop relationships that enable them to pray, study, apply biblical principles and serve one another on a deeper level. Small group leaders challenge students to attempt and do great things for God such as witnessing to their unbelieving friends. Small group leaders also provide accountability, prayer support and encouragement for the daily struggles students go through.
Small Group Events - Small Group Events include ministering at nursing homes, ministering at the Capital City Rescue Mission, the Ronald McDonald House, etc. Small Groups are designed to model Christ-like love through service and relationship building. The Small Group format is an excellent vehicle for outreach.
The Common Ground website is currently under construction. It should be up and running in September. Thanks for your patience.
