Children

SONSHINE STATION

The LCC Nursery (Sonshine Station) exists to serve families by providing care that expresses God's deep love for children age four and under.  A Team Leader oversees the whole Nursery operation of volunteers and parental needs; vibrating pagers are available for parents.  Care is given during the regular services and holiday services.  We have created a system that prevents non-custodial parents or strangers from gaining access to the children. Volunteers who serve on a rotating schedule support the Team Leaders.  Contact Dan & Winnie Meade at danwinnie@verizon.net or Connie & Nean Tyrrell for more information.

J.A.M. (Children's Church)

Children ages three to seven worship and pray under the guidance of adults and teens who have an authentic relationship with Jesus and desire to mentor children spiritually during the 11:15 AM worship service.  Beginners and kindergarteners meet together for the entire service. Children in first and second grade begin the hour worshiping in the sanctuary with their parents.  After the offering, they are dismissed for their own worship and prayer.  LCC adults along with teen leaders love and disciple the children. Check the Worship Guide or call the Church Office for ages, places and locations.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL

Vacation Bible School is a week-long program for children in grades K-8.  The summer camp atmosphere provides a week of informal activities aimed at using the arts to communicate and study the Scriptures.  Talented instructors provide workshops for those in grades 4-8 to learn skills in the arts and in service, while grades K-3 are busy exploring drama, music, food and Scripture through the theme of choice.

VBS 2010 will be held July 12-16.   Click here to view this year's brochure.

BOYS BRIGADE

The Boys Brigade meets every Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 PM when school is in session.  It serves boys in grades Pre-K through 6.  Our goal is to help them develop a positive concept of Christian masculinity and to provide a dynamic means of outreach and evangelism to boys and their families.  The Brigade comprises three different groups as follows:

  •  Tadpoles - A father-and-son meeting for Pre-K & Kindergarten
  •  Tree Climbers - A father-and-son meeting for grades 1-2
  •  Stockade - For grades 3-6

PIONEER GIRLS

Pioneer Girls exists to reach and disciple young girls for Christ.  Approximately 60 girls, grades 1-6, attend each Wednesday night from 7:00-8:30 PM, September through May (except when school is cancelled or on vacation).  Leaders invest in the lives of the girls through teaching and prayer.  The girls enjoy a great variety of fun activities such as kitchen time, gym time, games, crafts, music and various themed parties.  They have fun while learning to put Jesus into every phase of life!  For more information contact Debbie Johnson at debjohnson61@gmail.com.

GIRLS OF GRACE

Girls of Grace is a group for girls in grades 7-12 who are serious about their faith and have a desire to put their faith into action.  We meet every Wednesday night from September through May.  Our purpose as a group of Christian teen girls is to learn and grow in Christ Jesus through Bible study, Christian fellowship, leading and serving others.  Our program is designed to mentor, disciple, and equip girls for serving others and growing stronger in their faith.  Our main ministry is focused on serving the Pioneer Girls Club, which also meets each Wednesday evening. For more information contact Debbie Johnson at debjohnson61@gmail.com.

PRINCESS CLUB

The Princess Club is designed to be a program for mothers and daughters (ages 7-12) that promotes personal holiness under the authority of the holy Scripture.  Through biblically based and age-appropriate activities, mothers mentor their daughters in godly character.  The program can run for 6-8 weeks in a variety of venues.  Our time together ends with a special ceremony recognizing the commitment each child makes to the biblical principles discussed.
